Business-As-Mission (BAM) - Zambia
Base Ministry is partnering with Vine Christian Center in Lusaka, Zambia, to increase development of our current platform, BAMMODZI Project. This partnership is focused on creating business-as-mission funding to be used for church lay leader training throughout the region.
The Need - Training Funds For Action
With over 72 people groups, languages, and dialects, the landscape in Zambia is as diverse as its denizens. Of prime importance to evangelical churches is long-term funding to carry out aggressive and effective gospel ministries throughout the country. Issues, including the lack of prepared church leadership, insufficient leader training, and real Christ-centered business development, thwart the long-term aspirations of the churches most focused on kingdom building.
Meeting the need - Training BAM for Generational Effect
To best answer this particular issue, the Vine Christian Center community inaugurated a business-as-mission (BAM) focus in 2023 and dually launched BAMMODZI a year later. In conjunction with Base Ministry’s strategic partner, Awana Zambia, this incredible group of 16 men and women was trained to begin the development of producing cyclical funding streams to foster mission aims for the local body.
Currently, a piece of land has become available at a reduced price. This lot is located next to a brand-new university facility and is ideal for a BAM-related business facility to be constructed. This phase is for land purchase and development. Eventually, a smaller, 3-unit commercial space will be constructed and marketed to meet the needs of the students and passersby, generating much-needed and long-term revenue for gospel mission activity.
Future Impact
This project will accomplish multiple goals:
Create synergy for future impact between Vine Christian Center and Base Ministry as we look to build a strong core of trained leaders in Zambia and the surrounding region.
Provide better-trained youth workers and leaders who can impact their communities.
Provide funding for the Awana Zambia sports ministry leaders who were trained by Base in August 2024.
Create a location where the church can have a weekly presence in the community.
